Betting on UFC Fight Night 124: Stephens vs. Choi, Sportsbook Preview

October 17th, 2018 UFC Betting

While UFC betting fans await the fateful day that Stipe Miocic attempts to defend his heavyweight title against Francis Ngannou, sportsbook players can look forward to UFC Fight Night 124: Stephens vs. Choi. While it might not have the same stakes on the line as UFC 220, this weekend’s event is still filled to the brim with exciting bouts. Naturally, there’s plenty of great action to be had off these matchups. Let’s dive right in into this weekend’s lineup.

Stephens vs. Choi: Fight Night 124

  • When: Saturday, January 14th
  • Venue: Scottrade Center
  • Start Time: Main Card: 10 pm ET || Prelims: 8 pm ET || Early Prelims: 6 pm ET
  • TV: FS1
  • Online Stream: Fox Sports Go, UFC TV

This Saturday’s event will mark the promotion’s first in 2018. The last time UFC betting players tuned in for a show, we witnessed Khabib Nurmagomedov maul Edson Barboza. Afterwards, sportsbook players got to see Cris Cyborg establish her dominance against one of the best fighters in the world: Holly Holm. It’s tough to follow that awesome match up, but the headlining bout between Jeremy Stephens and Doo Ho Choi should help fill that gap.

For those unfamiliar, Stephens was the man at the receiving end of McGregor’s now infamous “Who the foook is dat?” remark at a previous presser. Other than that, there’s not that much to say about the 155-pounder. Stephens enter this matchup with a 26-14 professional record. That record isn’t all that impressive and the fact that Stephens is 2-3 in his last 5 fights bodes even worse. Nevertheless, the 31-year old is coming off a decision victory over Gilbert Melendez at UFC 215.

Doo Ho Choi was one of the UFC’s biggest upcoming stars. That was until Cub Swanson derailed that hype train with a decision victory over the Korean at UFC 206. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Choi, but this weekend’s fight gives him an opportunity to regain some hype.
