Triple Crown Betting Winners at SBG Global

Triple Crown betting winners have been few. Between throughout the years with only 11 horses having pulled off the feat of winning all three races in Triple Crown betting (Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont). Known as the royal jewel of horse racing in the United States, Triple Crown wagering is an exciting time of year for horse betting players.

Triple Crown betting has seen its last winner in 1978 with Affirmed while 21 horses have finished just one win from the Triple Crown. Horse racing has been a sport in American since the 1700’s but the phrase Triple Crown didn’t catch hold until 1930. Sir Barton was the first Triple Crown wagering winner in 1919. The 1930’s produced three of the Triple Crown winners, Gallant Fox (1930), Omaha (1935), and War Admiral (1937). The next decade produced four Triple Crown winners, Whirlaway (1941), Count Fleet (1943), Assault (1946), and Citation (1948). That is 7 of the 11 Triple Crown winners in the 30’s and 40’s.

It took another two and a half decades before Secretariat became the next Triple Crown winner in 1973 and then two more horses did it that decade and then none since. Seattle Slew was the Triple Crown wagering winner in 1977 and Affirmed the Triple Crown wagering winner the following year. It is now 30 years since the last Triple Crown winner, the longest gap in Triple Crown betting history. It is not an easy task to become a Triple Crown winner since all three races are different and are run within weeks of each other.
