US Open tennis odds record books are full of history, rich traditions, amazing feats and most of all, records. This year the great Roger Federer has a chance to rewrite many of the records with his sixth straight win in Flushing Meadows. But aside from the Swiss maestro’s assault on the US Open tennis odds records there are plenty of other amazing achievements in the US Open odds that won’t be broken this year or perhaps ever.

US Open tennis have been in play for more than a century with the first ever event held in 1881 at a casino in Rhode Island. Times have changed since then and 100 plus years later the US Open tennis odds competition has turned into one of the biggest and richest competitions in all of sports. And its record books are dotted with the names of the biggest stars in tennis history.

In the era of online sports betting many of the younger fans may not be aware of some of the older legends of the US Open odds but the tournament’s long and rich history has produced some monumental champions in the US Open tennis . Take for example, Richard Sears who won 8 straight US Open odds titles. Granted this was before the invention of the telephone (1881-1887) but still a great feat and one that has yet to be duplicated.

On the women’s side of the net there has been also been many great US Open tennis champs. Chris Everett comes to mind. Everett holds the record for most singles titles in the modern era (man or woman) with six US Open odds titles. She also owns the individual record of most consecutive US Open tennis titles with 4 in a row. But the ultimate women’s record belongs to the iron lady of tennis Martina Navratilova. She holds the modern era record for most titles (both mixed and doubles) in US Open tennis odds history with a mind blowing 16 titles.

Compare that record with the men’s modern era leader (John McEnroe has 8 titles) and the enormity of her accomplishment becomes very apparent. But the men’s side is full of top US Open tennis odds champs as well. The aforementioned Federer has left his mark on the US Open tennis with a record five straight wins and with a victory this year will extend that record and own the record for modern era US Open tennis wins by himself.

But it’s safe to say that no one will be knocking Mr. Sears out of the record books any time soon.
