Australian Open

Opening ATP Grand Slam action with the Tennis betting odds is the Australian Open.  Since 1988, the Australian Open is played on a hard court.  It was founded in 1905 and it is celebrated for being the first of the Big Four events of the ATP season. Roger Federer added to his Hall of Fame credentials with a men’s singles win at Australia last January.  In 2018 the event was held at Melbourne Park.  A total of $55 million in prize money was on the line.  Caroline Wozniacki was the 2018 women’s singles winner.

Roland Garros

Roland Garros ranks as one of most famous and revered venues in sports.    Among all the Grand Slam tournaments the French Open is the only held on clay.  Unique to Roland Garros is the slow playing surface and best of five set matches for men.  As a result, its considered the most grueling of all Grand Slam events.  Rafael Nadal was the men’s singles winner in 2017.  Jelena Ostapenko took the women’s singles title last year.  French Open action runs from May 27 through June 10, 2018.

Wimbledon

Due to tradition and history, Wimbledon is first among equals in the Grand Slam.  It ranks with golf’s Master’s Tournament as the elite of the elite.  Tradition oozes at Wimbledon from a strict dress code to strawberries and cream snacks.  Spectators will not see any sponsor advertising on its courts. Since 1877 Wimbledon is played on outdoor grass courts. It takes place at the All England Club. Formally known as The Championships, Wimbledon, Roger Federer took the men’s singles last year.  Most relevant is that Federer is the all time winner at Wimbledon with eight titles.

On the women’s side Garbine Muguruza was Wimbledon singles champion in 2017.  Martina Navratilova is the women’s career leader with nine titles.  For 2018 The Championships, Wimbledon runs from July 2 through July 15.

US Open

Closing out the Sportsbook online Grand Slam is the US Open from New York.  Seems like the US Open always garners gambling attention as the fourth and final leg.  The tournament is played on a hard surface. It takes place from August 27th to September 9th. Rafael Nadal was the men’s singles winner in 2017.  Sloane Stephens took the women’s title last year.
