Tennis fans see that the Open de Moselle men’s tennis tournament is played in Metz, France from October 1st through October 8th. Those fans looking at tennis odds know that it is one of the three French tournaments of the ATP International Series.

The defending champion and current tennis betting favorite is Novak Djokovic. He defeated Jurgen Melzer last season in three sets to excite tennis fans. Djokovic is a rising star in tennis, especially after his strong performance in the U.S. Open where he eventually lost in the final to tennis favorite, Roger Federer 7-6, 7-6, 6-4.

The Open de Moselle is one of the top tennis events in France and usually provides exciting tennis betting matches. Tennis betting fans may want to know that last year three of the four quarter-finalists were French. Sebastien Grosjean made the semi-finals but lost to Djokovic in tennis odds. One French player worthy of note is 21 year old Gael Monfils who may attract some tennis betting interest. He lost two years ago to Ivan Ljubicic who is also one of the tennis choices.

Last year Djokovic was the third seed in the tournament and one of the tennis favorites. He had to rally from a set down to defeat Austrian Jurgen Melzer 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to win the Open de Moselle in Metz for those that were looking at tennis . Fans of tennis see that Djokovic fired 10 aces and converted four of 11 break points during the victory. Fans of tennis odds know that Melzer led Djokovic by a set and a break when he won the first game of the second set. But Djokovic hit back hard, breaking Melzer two consecutive times. “This is the best feeling I can have. I win my second career title in my third final. I am having right now the best year in my career,” Djokovic said last year, “I played this week the best tennis in my life. I had easy wins until the semis but then, yesterday against Grosjean, it was really tough and I had to fight a lot in order to come through. Today, it was again a tough one and I didn’t start well…I don’t know how but I managed to come back and take his serve again and at this point his game and energy level went down and I was able to win the title.” Djokovic will be a popular tennis choice again in this year’s tournament and a solid tennis odds favorite.
