Sharks Beat the Blues, Will Play First Stanley Cup Final

The San Jose Sharks advance to their first Stanley Cup FinalThe San Jose Sharks made a lot of people betting on hockey happy by beating the St. Louis Blues 5-2 in game 6 of the NHL playoffs Western Conference Finals and winning the series 4-2. The team led by Joe Pavelski will not go on to compete for the Stanley Cup championship for the first time in its 25-year history. Goalkeeper Martin Jones is the only Shark who has won the cup – as a backup netminder for the Los Angeles Kings in 2014 – while Dainius Zubrus is the only one of his teammates who has played in Stanley Cup final – actually in two; in 1997 with the Philadelphia Flyers and in 2012 with the New Jersey Devils (both losing efforts).

Lightning Delivers Sweet Chin Music to Penguins

Lightning deliver sweet chin music to Penguins and HBKFans betting on hockey can eagerly await a crucial game 6 where it is do or die for the Penguins, after the Lightning put them at the edge of the abyss.

Much like when Shawn Michaels did to Bret Hart at Wrestlemania XII, the Tampa Bay Lightning delivered Sweet Chin Music to the Pittsburg Penguins at overtime in game 5, leaving them one win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. Adding insult to injury, the Penguins had invited the original Heartbreak Kid himself to attend the game. Michaels was in attendance wearing a Penguins jersey, after Pittsburg fans invited him to witness the HBK line of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino, and Phil Kessel, it all seemed like a celebration that came crashing down when Tyler Johnson scored after just 53 seconds of overtime. The Lighting now gets the series back at Tampa, looking to seal the deal.

The Blues are Going to Need a Bigger Boat for Game 3

St. Louis Blues NHL Conference FinalsIt is agreed among sports betting pundits that the San Jose Sharks have outplayed the St. Louis Blues on both games of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs Western Conference Finals. The difference between game 1 (which the Blues won 2-1) and game (which the Sharks won 4-0) is that in the former San Jose outshot but did not outscore St. Louis, while they did both in the latter. San Jose Sharks Tie Series with St. Louis Blues 1-1

Sharks tie series 1-1The San Jose Sharks put aside any concerns fans betting on hockey might have had about them not being able to outscore – or just score, for that matter – the St. Louis Blues last night at the Scottrade Center. The Sharks shut out the Blues 4-0 and tied the NHL Western Conference Finals 1-1 in game 2 of the series. San Jose’s lethal power play made a much-welcomed return – though both teams failed to make the most of such plays in the first period. The Sharks' fourth line gave them the advantage early. Tommy Wingels, Dainius Zubrus, and Justin Braun combined on a cycle play to find the former in the slot for his second goal of the postseason and a 1-0 lead. The play was nearly off-sides, but the St. Louis learned from a lost challenge in Game 1 and let the play stand.

Penguins take game 2, tie seriesBlowout series are no fun, well unless your team is the one of the winning end of said blowout, but for online betting purposes a lengthy series is best. With that said the Penguins leveling the Eastern Conference Finals makes us anticipate more hockey to be played.

After Tampa Bay swept the Islanders and took game 1 of the series, as the underdogs for the first game, it seemed that they were well on their way to a big upset. But Game 1 cost the Lighting Big Ben Bishop, who went out with a knee injury. Despite that blow, Tampa managed to take the first game from the Steel City, 3-1.
