Yankees and Angels Sweep, Will Meet in ALCS Sportbook

Sportbook action in the American League saw two division sweeps as the New York Yankees took out the Minnesota Twins while the Los Angeles Angels swept the Boston Red Sox. It will now be the Yankees and Angels matched up in baseball odds at the offshore sportsbook in the American League Championship Series which begins on Friday.

Sportbook odds have the Yankees almost a 2-1 favorite to win the ALCS over the Angels. New York dominated Minnesota in sportbook results, outscoring the Twins 15-6 in the three games. It is the third time in ALCS history that the Yankees have swept a series. You might wonder what happened in those two previous sports betting occasions with the Yankees. They went on to win the World Series both times, in 1998 and in 1999. Both were four-game sweeps. Offshore sportsbook numbers show that the Twins have now lost nine straight playoff games dating back to 2004. They were horrible in sportbook results this season against the Yankees as they went 0-10.

This is the first time in five years that the Yankees will be on the sportbook odds board in the ALCS. Alex Rodriguez has heated up for the Yankees, breaking his previous post-season slump and the Yankees are the online sports betting favorites to win the World Series at the offshore sportsbook. “I knew that I couldn’t change all the 0-for-4s, 0-for-5s and all the guys I left on base,” said Rodriguez, “I’m content right now, both on and off the field.”

New York is the sports betting favorite in Game 1 of the ALCS at the sportbook. “It’s exciting,” Rodriguez said. “We were very disappointed last year when we went home, and ownership got us some good players. We came out and played like a team, like a group of brothers.”

New York is favored at the sportbook against the Angels who are coming off a three-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox. The Angels scored three runs off Boston closer Jonathan Papelbon to beat Boston 7-6. Sportbook history shows that it was the first postseason sweep in Angels franchise history. Boston was pathetic in the entire sportbook series, getting just 15 hits, the fourth-fewest ever by a team in division series history.

It will be the first ALCS since 2005 for the Angels. If the Angels can score in the ALCS they have a chance to win in offshore sportsbook results. The Yankees are 51-1 this sportbook season when holding their opponent to two runs or less. The Yankees and Angels split their 10 sportbook meetings this season.
