Saturday’s two games have Winnipeg hosting Edmonton and Saskatchewan at Calgary. The story on the Winnipeg Bombers surrounds starting quarterback Buck Pierce who is out for the next two to four weeks. His absence is a huge loss for Winnipeg The Blue Bombers are 1-2 on the season and their chances of being a factor in the East could be over with the injury to Pierce. The Blue Bombers will start Steven Jyles on Friday in a game that they really have to find a way to win against the last place Eskimos. The team also signed former Purdue quarterback Joey Elliott. The team may need to go to Elliott soon since Jyles has thrown for five touchdowns versus eleven interceptions in his career. Winnipeg is still a 1.5 point favorite with a total of 54. The last game of the week will be in Calgary as the Stampeders host the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Roughriders are the league’s only unbeaten team at 3-0. The Roughriders are playing excellent defense as they have allowed only 91.3 yards rushing per game this season. They lead the league with 11 total sacks. The Stampeders are 1.5 point home favorites at the offshore sportsbook with a total of 56. It is a big game for the Stamps since they can tie Saskatchewan for the top spot in the West Division with a win.
