One of the most popular races in the Formula One season is on Sunday with Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso the two favorites at the sportsbook for the Monaco Grand Prix. Jenson Button is leading the point’s race but he is listed behind Vettel and Alonso in sportsbook online odds.
Sportsbook odds list Button as the fifth choice in the betting at 13-1. Button has not qualified well this season but he still has done well in the races. Winning at Monaco though is difficult if you don’t start up front. Button’s teammate Lewis Hamilton is the co-third choice at 4-1 at the sportsbook with Mark Webber. The driver with the quickest practice on Thursday was Alonso and he is definitely going to be a contender on Sunday. Alonso has been fourth or better in every race this season.
The hottest team in Formula One right now is the Red Bull Renault team. Vettel has been excellent in almost every race this season. He has been in the top three in every race but has not been able to get many victories. He has just one win on the season but he is always right there. Vettel was second in Thursday’s practice behind Alonso. Both drivers are listed at about 2-1 on the odds board for Sunday’s race.
The early season point’s race is really tight with Button in first just three points ahead of Alonso. Vettel is right there as well with Webber very much in the picture especially after his win last weekend in Spain. Webber was the first driver to win from the pole this season. Whoever wins the pole will have a great chance to win this week as passing is very tough to do at Monaco. Last year it was Button winning this race from the pole. Two years ago it was Hamilton winning this race. Both of them should be in the mix on Sunday for McLaren. Alonso will also be a factor and his teammate Felipe Massa might actually be in the picture on Sunday.
Michael Schumacher has won this race a lot in the past but he is simply not the driver he once was. He is one of the longshots at the sportsbook to win this race. Schumacher is listed at 15-1 along with Nico Rosberg in sportsbook online odds.
