Tiger Expected to Return within the Next Month

Sportsbook odds should have Tiger Woods on the board within the next month. Reports have Tiger returning at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in two weeks or at The Masters in early April.  Tiger is likely to be favored in sportsbook online odds no matter when he returns.

Sportsbook has the Arnold Palmer Invitation being played March 25th through March 28th in Orlando.  One report has Tiger returning for that event since it is close to his home.  Another report has Woods waiting until The Masters which begins on April 8th.  There is also speculation that Tiger could return for the Tavistock Cup since it is played in Orlando. There have been reports that Woods has been practicing near his Orlando home and that swing coach Hank Haney has been working with him.

If Woods waits until The Masters to return the sportsbook online odds of him winning wouldn’t be as high as if he had played in an event before The Masters.  The only time Woods played in a major after a long layoff was in the 2006 U.S. Open and he didn’t even make the cut.  Woods has not played since November 15th and it would be very difficult to come right back into golf at a major and expect to win.

There are reports that Woods is working with former presidential press secretary Ari Fleischer.  It was Fleischer who helped Mark McGwire return to baseball. Reports have him working with Woods now and planning his return.

The two options for Woods returning look to be the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill or The Masters. Woods has won at Bay Hill six times including four straight times from 2000 through 2003. He also won in 2008 and in 2009 as sportsbook statistics indicated.

Woods made a statement last month saying that he would return to golf at some point and that it could be this year.  “I do plan to return to golf one day,” Woods said during his statement. “I just don’t know when that day will be. I don’t rule out that it will be this year.” All signs now point to Woods returning in the next few weeks.  The media frenzy and the attention from fans and those that bet on golf will be intense in the first event that Tiger plays in.
