Sportbook had the Texas Sooners moving past Alabama to the #2 spot in the AP poll. The Longhorns were very impressive this past week as they rolled over Oklahoma State in offshore sportsbook odds. The Longhorns still trail #1 Florida although it won’t matter as long as Texas remains unbeaten they would play in the national title game.
Sportbook had Florida at #1 in the AP poll followed by Texas, Alabama and Cincinnati. It is the highest ranking for the Bearcats in school history as offshore sportsbook indicated. Cincinnati is still #7 in the USA Today coaches’ poll. TCU and Boise State are also ahead of Cincinnati in the USA Today poll but not in the AP. Boise State is #5 in the AP Poll.
Florida was very impressive this past sportbook week as they routed Georgia. It was the 18th straight sportbook win for the Gators going back to last season. The Gators received 38 first-place votes, eight more than last week. Texas got 13 first-place votes, six more than last sportbook week. Alabama had eight first place votes. The Crimson Tide has the tough game this week in sportbook odds as they host #9 LSU on Saturday.
TCU jumped two spots into sixth, while Oregon’s moved up to #7 after their 47-20 rout of USC in sportbook results. Iowa, LSU and Georgia Tech complete the Top 10 in the AP poll. The second ten as offshore sportsbook numbers showed starts with Penn State and they are followed by USC, Houston, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Miami-Florida, Utah, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. The love affair with Notre Dame continues as they moved up six spots. Notre Dame won 40-14 over Washington State but didn’t cover the sportbook odds. Arizona, Virginia Tech, California, Wisconsin and BYU complete the Top 25.
The three new teams this week as sportbook info shows are California, Wisconsin and BYU. California and BYU are back in the rankings while Wisconsin is ranked for the first time this offshore sportsbook season. West Virginia, South Carolina and Mississippi fell out of the rankings.
It is also important to take a look at the USA Today coaches’ poll as you look at sportbook odds. In that poll it is TCU that is in fourth place and they are ahead of Boise State which is important since only one of those two is going to get a BCS bowl berth. Iowa and Cincinnati are both highly ranked in the poll as well as sportbook stats show, since they are both unbeaten.
