Sportsbook Website – Who is going to win the AL and NL MVP Awards?

Sportsbook Website – Who is going to win the AL and NL MVP Awards? With just about six weeks of regular season baseball odds remaining at the sportsbook website, one of the questions to answer is who will win the MVP Awards? Things can change in the last few weeks but there are some definite favorites at the online sportsbook for the award in the American League and in the National League.

Sportsbook website numbers really predict a two-man race in the American League.  It is likely to be either Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera or Texas’ Josh Hamilton.  The National League is a little bit more wide open although Cincinnati’s Joey Votto and St. Louis’ Albert Pujols are the favorites.

AL MVP:  Miguel Cabrera is having a great year even though the Tigers are going nowhere.  He leads all of baseball in RBI’s and OPS.  He is tied for second in the American League in home runs.  The one thing that hurts him is that Detroit is out of the playoff race.

Josh Hamilton doesn’t have as good a numbers as Cabrera but the Rangers are likely to make the playoffs and that helps his case.  The long shots at SBG global.com to win the award are New York’s Robinson Cano, Boston’s Adrian Beltre, Minnesota’s Delmon Young, Chicago’s Paul Konerko and Tampa’s Evan Longoria.

NL MVP:  The National League race is probably going to come down to Joey Votto and Albert Pujols. Whichever team wins the division may also have the National League MVP.  San Diego’s Adrian Gonzalez doesn’t have the numbers of Votto or Pujols but he is having another excellent season and the Padres are the surprise of baseball.

Long shots in the National League at the online sportsbook include San Francisco’s Aubrey Huff and Colorado’s Carlos Gonazlez.

The Winners:  Unless Cabrera falls apart he is going to win in the American League. His numbers are simply too good to ignore.  He leads Hamilton in both home runs and RBIs and those are the two categories that voters look at.  Hamilton has the edge in batting average but unless he closes the gap in the other two categories he won’t win.

Pujols will likely win the National League award unless Votto surpasses him in at least one category. Pujols leads Votto in home runs and in RBIs.
