The Minnesota Vikings got an overtime win on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals although they did not cover the spread at the sportsbook website. Even though the Vikings got the win it does not mean that the job of head coach Brad Childress is safe. It could be that the Vikings make a change anyway and that might make them worth taking against the odds at the sportsbook.
The Vikings have won three games now and are 3-5 on the season but they are just 2-6 against the point spread at Sbgglobal. Even though Minnesota got the win it is very possible that owner Zygi Wilf will make a coaching change. It was thought that if the Vikings lost the game against the Cardinals that Childress would be fired for sure. He still might be. If Childress is fired then it would be defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier who takes over as the head coach.
Not Many Supporters of Childress
There are not many players in the Minnesota Vikings locker room who support head coach Brad Childress. Wilf spoke to many players last week and he didn’t find much support. Wide receiver Percy Harvin spoke out last week and confronted Childress and many other players said they supported Harvin. Many players believe that Childress already should have been fired. The team won against Arizona but they do not want to play for Childress. Some players have said that Childress has never been popular in the locker room. One player called him untrustworthy. The owner got all of this from the players last week but Childress survived. He may not survive much longer.
Next Two Week Critical for Minnesota
The Vikings got the win against Arizona to keep their playoff hopes alive but the season for Minnesota will be decided in the next two weeks. The Vikings go to Chicago this week for a matchup in football odds at the sportsbook website against a Chicago team they trail in the standings. The following week the Vikings host Green Bay. If the Vikings are to make a run at the division title in the NFC North they need to win both of those contests and they could be underdogs in both games at the sportsbook.
