Sportsbook – Stampeders Expected to Stomp the Eskimos on Friday. The Edmonton Eskimos and Calgary Stampeders are meeting The Edmonton Eskimos and Calgary Stampeders are meetingor the second time in five days and Calgary is favored again at the sportsbook website. The Stampeders completely destroyed Edmonton 52-5 earlier this week and it might be more of the same on Friday. Calgary is on the road but it is hard to make a case for Edmonton at the sportsbook.
Edmonton Was Humiliated – The Eskimos were humiliated on Monday. Head coach Richie Hall could be coaching for his job on Friday. He called Monday’s effort embarrassing and unacceptable. Whether that changes or not on Friday is the question. The Eskimos could not play much worse. They had a total of 11 first downs and a measly five rushing yards. Rickey Ray was horrible at quarterback and backup Jared Zabransky was not better. And the defense was an abomination. Do you get the idea of how bad it was for Edmonton?
Is Pride Enough? This is the final meeting between Edmonton and Calgary this season and in the first two games the Stampeders stomped the Eskimos 56-15 and 52-5. Is there any reason to think Friday’s game will be any different? Head coach Richie Hall said that the team will have pride on Friday and play better but it is hard to believe anything he says. The Eskimos are in a tie for last place in the West Division. They have given up the most points in the league at 305 and have scored the fewest at 167. Calgary has scored a league-high 305 points and given up the fewest at 182. Calgary leads the league in turnover ratio at +9 while Edmonton is a ridiculous -17. I guess you can hope that Edmonton has some pride and covers the line at the sportsbook but it is hard to believe anyone is going to put money on it happening.
Other Games in Week 11 – Saturday’s games on the odds board at SBG have Montreal at Hamilton and Toronto at British Columbia. Sunday’s game has Saskatchewan at Winnipeg. That matchup in CFL odds at the sportsbook site between Montreal and Hamilton is suddenly a big one since the Tiger Cats could actually tie Montreal for the top spot in the East with a win.
