Sportsbook Website – It’s October and that means Cliff Lee Wins. The month of October is here and that means playoff baseball lines are available at the sportsbook website and it also means Cliff Lee is winning games. In the last two years there has not been a better postseason pitcher than Cliff Lee and he won yet again on Wednesday as the Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays as underdogs against the odds at the sportsbook company.
Lee was an Underdog – Can you believe that Cliff Lee was an underdog on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays at the Sbg sportsbook? The Rangers were on the road and facing Tampa’s best pitcher David Price but you got plus money if you took the Rangers with Lee on the mound.
5-1 Texas Win – The Rangers won the opener of their series against Tampa Bay by a score of 5-1. Lee had 10 strikeouts and allowed just one run on five hits. At one point he retired 16 of 17 batters.
Lee is 5-0 in the Playoffs – In his postseason career, Cliff Lee is 5-0 in six starts. He was 4-0 with a 1.56 ERA in five starts for the Philadelphia Phillies last year including 2-0 with a 2.81 ERA against the New York Yankees in the World Series. The Rangers broke a nine-game postseason losing streak that went back to 1996 thanks to Lee. Nelson Cruz and Bengie Molina homered in the victory against the baseball odds at the sportsbook company. Darren O’Day and Darren Oliver pitched the eighth, and rookie Neftali Feliz had some trouble in the ninth but worked out of it by striking out the last two batters.
Overrated Price – During the regular season, Price won 19 games but he was not very good on Wednesday. He allowed five runs and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings. He struck eight but far too often he left the ball over the middle of the plate and the Rangers pounded it. He has never pitched well in his career against the Rangers and even if Tampa manages to get this series to a fifth game you can’t like their chances.
First Inning Escape – The first inning really decided this game against the odds at the sportsbook website as the Rays loaded the bases against Lee and got nothing. Carlos Pena and Rocco Baldelli struck out and Tampa’s chances of getting to Lee were over.
