Memphis guards O.J. Mayo and Tony Allen got into a confrontation on Monday over money that Mayo lost to Allen in a card game. It got so heated that several players had to separate the two. No Problem for Allen

It is another story for Mayo. He is reportedly on the trading block and he didn’t even play on Tuesday as he supposedly had bronchitis. Mayo does have a swollen eye so not only did he lose money to Allen it also looks like he took the worst of the action in the altercation. The team gave the reason of bronchitis for Mayo missing the Tuesday game but the injury he suffered in the fight sound like the real reason.
Trouble for Mayo
It has not been a good season for O.J. Mayo all the way around. He is averaging just 13.2 points per game this season. He averaged 18.5 two years ago in his rookie season and he averaged 17.5 points per game a year ago. He is now down substantially from that number and the Grizzlies are looking to trade him. Chicago has been mentioned as a possible destination but with his recent play and his recent troubles, the trade value for Mayo has gone down and he is no longer considered a key player who can impact the NBA odds at the sportsbook company.
