Sportsbook Website – FedEx Cup Playoffs Begin. The FedEx Cup playoffs begin on Thursday with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy co-favorites at the Sbg global sportsbook site to win The Barclays. If you would like to bet another golfer to win The Barclays this week (and that might not be a bad idea), there are some good odds available at the sportsbook.
Sportsbook website odds have all of the big names on the board. This is when things get serious for the FedEx Cup so all of the big boys are playing. Woods and Mickelson are two of the favorites but neither of them has played well enough to deserve the favorite’s role.
Possible Winners: It is getting tough to pick a winner in golf with players like Woods and Mickelson struggling. Last week the field was the winner because a qualifier won the Wyndham Championship. It had been more than two decades since a qualifier had won a tournament.
If you are going to bet at the sportsbook this week then you need some value. 10-1 on Woods, Mickelson or McIlroy is just not going to cut it. Steve Stricker is 15-1 but he hasn’t played that well of late either. Jim Furyk is 23-1 and he has shown nothing. Paul Casey is 25-1 and his form is not that great either.
Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els, Dustin Johnson, Hunter Mahan and Matt Kuchar are 30-1 each. There is some value in this group as Johnson continues to be in the hunt every week and he is way overdue to win. Kuchar is also in fine form and it would not be a surprise to see him win this week.
Long shots: Normally you could consider 30-1 a long shot but we just listed players who had a real chance to win at 30-1 a moment ago. There are players at 40-1 or 50-1 who could definitely win. Bubba Watson is 42-1 and he nearly won a couple of weeks ago. Jeff Overton has played well all year and he is 50-1.
Jason Day is playing well and he is 60-1. There is probably not a better tournament for a big name to win at long shot prices than The Barclays. Last year it was Heath Slocum winning as a long shot.
The winner of The Barclays will immediately move into first place in the FedEx Cup playoffs and any player in the Top 24 will move into the Top 5 if they finish fifth or better this week.
