Sportsbook Website – Could the Padres Blow Their Big Lead?

Sportsbook Website – Could the Padres Blow Their Big Lead?. Should we just assume the San Diego Padres are going to win the National League West and win some games vs. the odds at the sportsbook website? Is it possible that San Diego could actually blow a big lead?  The Padres have been one of the biggest successes vs. the baseball odds at the sportsbook this season but in the past week they have hit the skids.

Heading into Tuesday’s action the Padres had lost five straight games against Sbg global baseball odds. Their lead over San Francisco has fallen to five games and even the Colorado Rockies were in range at seven games back.  The Giants, Rockies and Dodgers now consider themselves playoff contenders, if not for a division title then for a Wild Card spot.

San Diego Concerns – Do you remember before the season began that San Diego was considered a last place team by baseball experts at the sportsbook?  San Diego’s pitching is still very good but it has shown some cracks.   Mat Latos is the ace of the staff but he is already past the number of pitches that young pitchers usually throw.  Clayton Richard is another young pitcher who is over his normal threshold of pitches.   Jon Garland has probably pitched over his head this season.  The Padres offense is better now that they have Miguel Tejada and Ryan Ludwick but it is still below average.

Big Homestand Coming – We are going to find out if San Diego is in trouble real quick. They have a huge 10-game homestand that begins on Friday. The Padres have been superb at home this season going 38-26 vs. the baseball odds at the sportsbook website. This is the biggest homestand of the year though as they host Colorado for three, the Dodgers for three and San Francisco for four.  Nothing like playing 10 straight games against the teams chasing you is there?  If the Padres do well in that homestand they could really put their competitors in the rear view mirror.  If they struggle on the homestand then look out as they would be extremely vulnerable down the stretch.  After the 10-game homestand the Padres will then go on the road for 10 straight at Colorado, St. Louis and Los Angeles.
