Sportsbook Success for Chelsea as they Win Title

Chelsea routed Wigan on Sunday in sportsbook odds to clinch the Premier League title. The clinching win was extremely impressive as Chelsea easily covered the odds at the online sportsbook as they won by a score of 8-0.

Sportsbook statistics indicated that Chelsea won their first Premier League title since 2006.  Their season total of 103 goals was the highest since Manchester United in 2000.  Chelsea won the Premier League title by one point over United.  Chelsea news scored seven or more goals for the fourth time this season. Wigan was no match for Chelsea, especially after defender Gary Caldwell was sent off in the first half.  Didier Drogba had a hat trick for the Blues and he was the Golden Boot winner as he finished the season with 29 league goals.  The Blues also got two goals from Nicolas Anelka and others from Frank Lampard, Salomon Kalou and Ashley Cole.

The win for Chelsea news against Wigan was pretty easy vs. the sportsbook line and it got even easier after Caldwell was sent off.  Lampard scored on the penalty even though Drogba wanted the kick.  Drogba was so upset at not being given the kick that other members of the Chelsea team had to calm him down.  Drogba was even with Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney with 26 goals at the time of the penalty.  Drogba had to wait until the second half before he won the Golden Boot. He scored in the 63rd minute and five minutes later he scored again. Drogba completed the hat trick with about 10 minutes left in the game. ”There are a lot of things we’re happy about. We’re happy for this record, for Didier being the top scorer, but the most important thing is that we showed some good play.” Manager Carlo Ancelotti said.

Chelsea was very relieved to have won the title. ”It’s about Chelsea Football Club and our day today.” Chelsea captain John Terry said, “It’s been a hard three years, not winning the Premier League, but we’ve done it today and we deserved it. It’s been inside of me for three years, seeing Man United lift it season after season and every single one of us has sat there and watched it. And now it’s their turn to sit there and watch us today.”

Chelsea could be on their way to a double as they are favored at the online sportsbook in the FA Cup this week as they play Portsmouth for the title.
