Sportsbook Site – Wide Open Race for the Heisman at Midseason

Sportsbook Site – Wide Open Race for the Heisman at Midseason. We are at the midpoint of the college football season and the race for the Heisman Trophy is wide open at the sportsbook site. The favorite last week was Michigan’s Denard Robinson but after a poor game against Michigan State he has come back to the pack.  Terrelle Pryor is the 3-1 favorite at the offshore sportsbook. There are seven players with odds less than 10-1, another player at 11-1 and another one at 15-1.  That means nine players who have a real chance to win the Heisman Trophy based on the odds.  Let’s look at each one.

Terrelle Pryor 3 to 1 – There is no doubt that Pryor is a contender for the unbeaten Buckeyes. His chances will rise or fall this week because Ohio State plays perhaps their toughest game of the season at Wisconsin.

Denard Robinson 7.5 to 1 – Some people have really dropped him down in the Heisman race but he still has great numbers and don’t forget that Michigan still plays Ohio State later this season.

Kellen Moore 7.5 to 1 – Boise State is unbeaten but they don’t play anyone.  Moore will have to put up great numbers and it still probably won’t be enough.

LaMichael James 7.5 to 1 – The big mover in Heisman Trophy odds at SBG this week is James. He is simply running over teams and Oregon is scoring a ton of points each week.  Some people believe he is now the favorite despite what the odds say.

Taylor Martinez 7.5 to 1 – Martinez is forcing his way into the discussion since Nebraska is unbeaten but these odds at the sportsbook site are probably too low considering a freshman never wins.

Cameron Newton 9.5 to 1 – If Pryor slips just a little bit it could be Newton who benefits the most. He also plays for an unbeaten Auburn team and his numbers are bettor than Pryor’s.

Mark Ingram 9 to 1 – His odds may as well be 100-1 at the sportsbook as he has no real chance to win.

Andrew Luck 11 to 1 – He is very much in the picture for a Stanford team that looks very good.

Ryan Mallett 15 to 1 – He is just barely in the discussion.
