Sportsbook Site: Shields more than a 2-1 Favorite vs. Kampmann at UFC 121

Sportsbook Site: Shields more than a 2-1 Favorite vs. Kampmann at UFC 121. Jake Shields is more than a 2-1 favorite at the sportsbook site against Martin Kampmann in UFC 121 on Saturday. Shields is one of the new stars in the UFC and he is getting a lot of attention at the offshore sportsbook.  His fight against Kampmann is part of the main event of UFC 121 that features Brock Lesnar going up against Cain Velasquez.

Shields 14-match winning streak – Shields has won 14 straight fights in MMA but this will be his first in the UFC.  Shields defeated Dan Henderson in Strikeforce back in April and that win has put Shields into the discussion for top MMA fighter.  Shields is coming over to the UFC because there was nothing left to prove in Strikeforce. Shields calls his fighting style American jiu-jitsu which he says is a mix of wrestling and traditional Brazilian jiu-jitsu.  Shields uses his wrestling skills to force opponents to the ground where he then looks for a submission. Shields is always forcing the action which works very well mixed martial arts action.

Kampmann is 17-3 – Kampmann is a solid underdog at the sportsbook site against Shields in this fight even though he is 17-3 in his career and coming off a win against Paulo Thiago at UFC 115.  Kampmann knows he is in for a tough bout and he realizes that he must defend the takedown to have any chance. Kampmann believes he can win if he can keep the bout upright.  Good luck with that one. Kampmann may not be able to win against the odds at SBG even if he turns the fight into a brawl as Shields is an excellent striker as well.

If Shields wins as expected against the odds at the offshore sportsbook, he will likely get a title shot against the winner of the bout between Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck.
