Sportsbook Site – Newton Now the 2-1 Favorite for the Heisman

Sportsbook Site – Newton Now the 2-1 Favorite for the Heisman.  We told you a couple of weeks ago that the time was right to bet Cam Newton to win the Heisman at the sportsbook site. You could have gotten him at odds of about 8-1 then.  Those odds are long gone as Newton is now the 2-1 favorite at the sportsbook to win the Heisman Trophy.

Three-Man Race
The Heisman is a three-man race but it is Newton’s to lose.  After what he did last week against LSU there is no question that Newton is the frontrunner to win the Heisman this year. We said a couple of weeks ago that he should have been the favorite and now he is.  There are only two realistic challengers to Newton. They are Oregon running back LaMichael James and Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore.

Cam Newton 2-1
The Heisman is Newton’s to lose.  He leads the nation in rushing and is playing for the #1 team in the country in the BCS standings.  He is not a lock though because Auburn does have a tough schedule. The other concern is injury as he carries the ball a lot. But unless he gets hurt or does something unforeseen, the Heisman is his.

LaMichael James 7-1
If you are going to bet anyone other than Newton to win the Heisman then it should be James. He is the one that should be 3-1, not Moore.  Oregon is the number one team in the AP poll and could finish unbeaten.  James is not that far behind Newton in the Heisman race and he is worth a shot at 7-1 odds at Sbg global.com.

Kellen Moore 3-1
The odds on Moore are really too low at the offshore sportsbook.  He is not going to win unless Newton and James totally collapse.  It doesn’t matter how good Moore plays or what he does.  Boise plays a rotten schedule and people simply don’t believe in the competition.

Long shots
There are still some other players on the board at the sportsbook site but none of them has much of a chance.  Terrelle Pryor is 4-1, Andrew Luck, Denard Robinson and John Clay are 11-1, Landry Jones is 12-1, Mark Ingram, Patrick Peterson and Taylor Martinez are 14-1, Ryan Mallett is 45-1, DeMarco Murray is 50-1 and Noel Devine is 100-1.  None of these players is really worth even a long shot chance unless all three of the top players get hurt.  Pryor and Robinson had their chances and none of the other players are even in serious consideration.
