Sportsbook – Sensation Strasburg May be Done for the Year

Sportsbook – Sensation Strasburg May be Done for the Year. It is possible that you will have to wait until next year to place a bet at the sportsbook on the Nationals when sensation Stephen Strasburg is on the mound. The Nationals placed their ace on the disabled list on Monday and it is very possible he will not pitch again until next season.  Strasburg has been a big favorite at the sportsbook in most of his starts and he pitched pretty well.

Sportsbook Statistics:  The numbers indicate that Strasburg went 5-3 with a 2.91 ERA in 12 starts for the Nationals.  He was overpowering at times with 92 strikeouts in 68 innings.  He strained a tendon in his forearm though and had to be put on the DL.

The Nationals are taking no chances with their franchise pitcher and it is quite possible he will not pitch again this season.  One injury expert has already said that Strasburg will not come back this season. Strasburg has thrown 123 innings if you combine his minor league and major league innings.

That is probably enough for a pitcher just coming out of college.

Nationals Struggling:  Washington has really not done very well since Strasburg has gotten hurt.  At least when Strasburg was on the mound there was reason to believe the Nationals would win.  That is really not the case anymore.  Bettors at the Sbg sportsbook really don’t like to take Washington very often as the team is still not very good.

The Nationals were 4-6 in their last ten games.  Washington is capable of winning games at home as they are over .500 but on the road they have been abysmal.

Numbers:  The Nationals are 26th in the league in offense which is really bad. Their pitching is 19th in the league but that was with Strasburg. It will not be as good without him.  Bettors will have to be very cautious taking the Nationals down the stretch.

This Week:  Washington hosts the Chicago Cubs early in the week and Washington are capable of winning against the Cubs. Chicago is one team that is just as bad as Washington. Later this week the Nationals host St. Louis and winning against the Cardinals will be a much more difficult task.
