Sportsbook Page – Updated NASCAR Chase Odds. The playoffs for NASCAR begin at New Hampshire this week with a 10-race Chase to the Sprint Cup Championship and updated odds are on the board on the sportsbook page. And yes, four-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson is the favorite at the offshore sportsbook.
The Sbg sportsbook has Johnson at +325 which is just ahead of Kyle Busch who is +400. The surprise is that Chase leader Denny Hamlin is the third choice at +550. Hamlin was the winner last week and those odds are 5.5 to 1 look very appealing. Kevin Harvick also has odds of 5.5 to 1. Jeff Gordon is the fifth choice at 6.5 to 1 while Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart are 9.5 to 1. Everyone else has double-digit odds.
Hamlin Should be Right with Johnson – There is no way that Denny Hamlin should be the third choice on the odds board at the sportsbook page. He is very focused on winning the Chase and has the team to do it. Jimmie Johnson is good and until someone beats him he deserves to be the favorite but Hamlin should be right there. He is without question a bargain at 5.5 to 1.
Long shots – Kurt Busch is listed with odds of 11.5 to 1 at the offshore sportsbook while Jeff Burton is 14-1. Greg Biffle is 14.5 to 1 while Matt Kenseth and Clint Boywer are 23.5 to 1.
Non-Contenders – While there are 12 drivers in the Chase, at least six of them have very little chance to win. Jeff Gordon has not won a race since April of last year. Clint Bowyer has not won a race since 2008. Matt Kenseth has not won a race since early last year and Greg Biffle has already said he doesn’t like his chances of winning the chase. Kurt Busch is not running well lately and Tony Stewart has not shown the ability to win week after week or to run in the Top 10 every week which is what you need to do to win the championship.
There are only 12 drivers that make the Chase but keep in mind that there will still be 43 drivers every week. The drivers in the Chase are the only ones that can win the Sprint Cup Championship but any driver can win the weekly races.
