Sportsbook Page – Underdogs Have Surprised Baseball Bettors Recently. You would think that by October bettors would have figured out how to beat baseball but news at the sportsbook page indicated that the dogs were more than holding their own.
You can’t even count on the St. Louis Cardinals and their top two pitchers Adam Wainwright and Chris Carpenter beating the rotten Washington Nationals. And that is just one example of a team flopping as a favorite vs. baseball odds at the offshore sportsbook.
Sportsbook page stories will be focused more on football in the upcoming weeks with the college and NFL seasons beginning but that doesn’t mean that baseball doesn’t get some action. The public still likes to bet favorites in baseball at the Sbg sportsbook. What has been happening recently though is that the favorites are losing.
Nothing is Safe – You can’t assume anything in baseball right now. The Houston Astros went into Philadelphia and swept the Phillies last week in a four-game series, the rotten Astros winning four straight in Philly. And then the Phillies go into San Diego and sweep the Padres. And that might not be the biggest shock. Baltimore went into Los Angeles over the weekend and won all three games against the Angels. They never beat the Angels but this season they won every single game against them. That’s right; the horrible Orioles won all six games against the Angels this season.
The National League is Really Wild – The National League has really been unpredictable lately at the offshore sportsbook. The Cardinals and Phillies are definitely responsible. St. Louis was supposed to be able to handle teams like Washington but they go and lose three of four. The Phillies are the head scratching team of the season. They disgrace themselves by losing four at home to Houston and then go into San Diego and sweep the National League West leading Padres in three games. The Padres had been one of the safest teams to take at home this season and then they go and get swept by the Phillies.
Give the Dogs a Look – Don’t just automatically assume favorites are going to win in October because they have to. Underdogs can steal some games at this time of the season and at big prices. Give those dogs a look as you bet baseball down the stretch.
