Sportsbook Page – CFL Playoffs Begin on Sunday

When you look at the sportsbook page this week you will notice CFL odds on the board. The CFL playoffs begin on Saturday with the conference semifinals.  It will be Toronto at Hamilton and British Columbia at Saskatchewan with the home teams favored at the offshore sportsbook.  The winners will then advance to the Conference final next week against Montreal and Calgary.

Toronto at Hamilton
The Tigercats are laying about a touchdown in this game at the offshore sportsbook with the total at 48. Toronto lost to Hamilton three times this year which is why the Tigercats are a touchdown favorite.  Toronto simply played rotten against Hamilton in the three games as they were outscored 74-28.  Toronto turned the ball over 15 times in the three games.  Hamilton sacked Toronto quarterback Cleo Lemon a total of 11 times in the three meetings. Hamilton also shutdown Cory Boyd and they will try and do the same on Sunday. Toronto was last in the league in passing so if Hamilton shuts down Boyd again they will probably win.  The one thing in Toronto’s favor is that it is tough to beat a team three times in a season and Hamilton will be trying to do it four times.

British Columbia at Saskatchewan
The Roughriders are a five-point favorite at home with the total at 52 at the Sbg sportsbook.  B.C. is the hottest team entering the playoffs and they are very capable of winning this game outright.  B.C. started the season at 1-7 but won seven of their last ten games.  Saskatchewan won the season series 2-1 but they are not playing well having lost four of their last five. The Roughriders will look to CFL passing leader Darian Durant who threw for 5,542 yards this season. Durant is very inconsistent though as he threw 25 TDs this season but also threw 22 interceptions.

Montreal Alouettes – The Alouettes have not played well down the stretch but it is hard to know how much of that is because they rested their starters. Montreal will have a home game next weekend.

Calgary Stampeders – They finished with the top record in the league. They are led by quarterback Henry Burris and an excellent defense. The Stampeders will get the other home game next weekend and will be favored in CFL odds on the sportsbook page.
