Sportsbook – No Time to Celebrate for Badgers as they visit Iowa

Sportsbook – No Time to Celebrate for Badgers as they visit Iowa. You might think that Wisconsin would have a letdown after beating the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes last week in college football odds at the sportsbook but it might not happen. This week the Badgers have to go to 13th ranked Iowa for what could be a tougher game than the one they just played. Winning at home is one thing against the sports book odds, winning on the road is another story.

The Badgers win against Ohio State this past week was an upset but not a huge one.  Wisconsin was at home where they almost never lose. They beat an Ohio State team that could have been a little overrated.  If Wisconsin wins at Iowa this week then the Badgers could take a big step forward.

Avoiding a Letdown – Normally when a team gets a signature win it is very tough to avoid a letdown the next week. The Badgers are now 10th in the country but they will be underdogs at Iowa.  There is nothing that can get the attention of a team after a big win like going into Iowa City to face the Hawkeyes. The winner of the Big 10 is going to have to go through Iowa to reach the Rose Bowl. The Hawkeyes are 2-1 in the Big 10 but they control their own destiny. They host Wisconsin this week, Michigan State next week and they also host Ohio State next month.

Strength vs. Strength – The Badgers want to pound on your with running back John Clay.  They are going to find the going tough against a stout Iowa defense. That doesn’t mean Wisconsin still won’t try to run it. They will. When Clay scores a touchdown the Badgers are 20-3 with the three losses coming by a total of five points. He scored twice against the Buckeyes in the big win last Saturday.

Iowa -6 at the Sbg sportsbook – The Hawkeyes are six-point favorites against Wisconsin at the sportsbook so you know that it will be a tough game for the Badgers. Not many teams go into Iowa and win and the oddsmakers don’t expect that Wisconsin will do it this week.  The game is one of the better ones on the board at the sportsbook this week and can be seen on ABC.
