Sportsbook Fans Note more Seattle Moves

The sportsbook odds on the Seattle Seahawks are likely to be a little lower next season as Seattle made a number of moves in the NFL Draft. The Seahawks not only had a good draft but they made some interesting trades including getting running backs LenDale White from Tennessee and Leon Washington from the New York Jets.  Seattle is right with San Francisco and Arizona as the favorite at the online sportsbook to win the NFC West this season.

Sportsbook odds list Seattle as a longshot at about 40-1 but the Seahawks have a new coach in Pete Carroll and a number of new players.  The Seahawks also picked up defensive tackle from Tennessee in the trade for LenDale White. “Just a great one-two punch to add to our team,” Carroll said, “We’re real excited about Leon Washington. Our guys loved him.”

White was expendable in Tennessee since Chris Johnson has taken over the starting running back job. “As far as LenDale falling out of favor, he practiced,” Titans coach Jeff Fisher said. “He was prepared to play. I think I can’t blame him for wanting to play more. That’s the kind of players you want on your roster. Considering the circumstances, he handled things. There were issues I don’t need to bring up. I thought he handled things reasonably well.”

Getting Washington from the Jets was also a good move for the Seahawks as he can do a number of things for Seattle and could really make them a threat on kick returns and on third downs and impact odds at the online sportsbook. “It’s a great opportunity,” Washington said. “I’m just excited.”

In the first round of the NFL Draft the Seahawks took Oklahoma State offensive tackle Russell Okung who they are hoping will take the place of Walter Jones who is retiring. The Seahawks were able to get a steal at #14 overall as they got safety Earl Thomas from Texas.  He is a great playmaker and will definitely improve the Seattle secondary.  In the second round the Seahawks may have got another steal in wide receiver Golden Tate from Notre Dame.  He has great speed and many people are calling him the best player drafted in the second round and Seattle got him at #60 overall. Tate could impact odds at the sportsbook this season. “(Tate’s) versatility, his ability to return (kicks), his run after catch, his toughness and his competitiveness showed up. He’s really a guy that can dominate the field, so we know that, we saw it. “We watched it for years. So we think we’re really fortunate to get him.” Coach Pete Carroll said.
