Sportsbook – Denard Robinson Crashes the Heisman Party

Sportsbook – Denard Robinson Crashes the Heisman Party.  There is a party crasher to the Heisman Trophy race and the odds at the sportsbook have changed. Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson is now even with Ohio State’s Terrelle Pryor in terms of odds at the sports book and on some lists he has moved ahead of Pryor.

Take a look at the Heisman odds at the Sbg sportsbook.  You will notice that Robinson and Pryor are each 6-1.  Robinson was not even on the radar of bettors before the season but after two fantastic games there are some people that believe the Heisman is his to lose.  The only other player with single-digits odds at the sports book is Kellen Moore who is 7.5 to 1.

There are some websites that still like Pryor to win the award but they obviously were not watching Michigan the past two weeks.  Robinson is the clear cut favorite right now to win the award.  Pryor’s only advantage is that he plays on the second ranked team in the country but if Michigan keeps winning even that advantage won’t mean much.  The Wolverines moved into the Top 20 this week.

Robinson #1 on Some Heisman Watch Lists – Robinson is number one on a Sports Illustrated Heisman Watch list. He is ahead of Pryor and Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, Moore and Auburn’s Cameron Newton.

Robinson has 885 Total Yards – If you look at the numbers they are simply amazing. Robinson has 885 yards of total offense. That is more than 87 of the 120 college football teams. He has 455 rushing yards and 430 passing yards.  That rushing number is good enough that he leads the country in rushing and he is a quarterback.  The Wolverines have looked very good in wins against the sportsbook odds over Connecticut and Notre Dame.

History in the Making – Robinson has the chance to become the first-ever player in college football history to rush for 2,000 yards and throw for 2,000 yards in a single season.

Upcoming Schedule – Michigan hosts Massachusetts on Saturday in what should be a rout.  They then host Bowling Green in a game in which they will be heavily favored to win at the sports book. They should win at Indiana and at home against Michigan State before their next tough game at home against Iowa on October 16th.
