Sportsbook – College Hoops Conference Rankings. College basketball is just around the corner and odds at the sportsbook are already on the board. You can bet on which team you believe will win the national title this season. Duke is the sportsbook online favorite at Sbgglobal but there are other contenders. Let’s take a look at the top conferences and which teams could challenge Duke in 2010-2011.
Big Ten
The best conference in college hoops is not the ACC. It is the Big Ten and it probably isn’t even close. The Big Ten have some definite national title contenders. The four best teams in the conference are all title contenders. Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State and Purdue are all going to have great seasons. Purdue did suffer a big loss though with the injury to Robbie Hummel. Minnesota and Wisconsin are also quality teams and Northwestern is not a pushover.
Big 12
The Big 12 has a lot of talent led by Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Baylor. This conference is a notch below the Big Ten because it is not as deep and there are some questions about the status of Kansas’ Josh Selby and Baylor’s LaceDarius Dunn. Texas is also a quality team while Colorado, Texas Tech and Texas A&M are in the mix.
Big East
This looks to be a three team race between Pittsburgh, Villanova and Syracuse. This top three is not as good as the top three of the Big Ten or Big 12 though. The conference does have depth though with West Virginia, Georgetown and Marquette sportsbook online contenders. Not to be left out are Notre Dame, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Connecticut and South Florida.

The conference has the best team in the country in Duke but then there is a drop off. Virginia Tech might be the next best team followed by North Carolina, NC State and Florida State. Clemson and Maryland should be in the mix as well.
SEC
Florida is the team to beat in the conference, not Kentucky. The Gators should be really good and a team to follow at the sportsbook. Kentucky is not far behind along with Tennessee. Georgia and Mississippi State are a notch below along with Vandy and Mississippi.
Those are the five best conferences in college hoops. The next five are the Mountain West, Atlantic 10, Pac-10, Missouri Valley and Horizon League.
