Sportbooks Online Johnson a Threat at Dover

Sportbooks online have Jimmie Johnson as one of the favorites as NASCAR’s race for the Sprint Cup moves to Dover for the second of the ten race finish. Last week it was Mark Martin winning in sports betting odds at the offshore sportsbook while Juan Pablo Montoya finished second and Johnson fourth.

Sportbooks online have seen Johnson winning the last three Sprint Cup Championships. He could be in line for a fourth straight title this season, especially if he wins at Dover. “I’m obviously pleased with the performance from New Hampshire, and very happy to be where we are in the points,” said Johnson. He trails Martin by only 35 points after one race.

Dover has been where Johnson has dominated recently and that makes him a serious online betting contender in offshore sportsbook odds. He has four wins there including an easy win in June when he led 298 of 400 laps. In 15 career starts at Dover he has 10 Top 10 finishes. This week is huge for Johnson as he looks to put pressure on Martin. “Mark is doing an awesome job, and there are some very good tracks for him in the Chase,” he said.

Johnson is a definite favorite in sportbooks online because he is a three-time champ. He doesn’t have a lot of pressure either. “I would say (I’m) more comfortable because of experience and being there in the past. It just helps,” he sad. “I feel that I’ve really been able to experience it over the last two years. I built on what we did in 2006 and just keep getting smarter and better through 2007 and 2008.”

Other drivers are also sportbooks online contenders. Martin is the leader and the fan favorite in sports betting while many people at the offshore sportsbook would like to see Tony Stewart win the title as owner-driver. Gordon has a little bit of support as well at sportbooks online while Montoya is in the mix as well.

Since it is only one race into the Chase there are really not any drivers out of contention although Kasey Kahne is in early trouble. He is more than 150 points behind which is not a good way to start as sportbook online stats have it. Carl Edwards also doesn’t look like a serious online betting contender either in sportbook online odds at the offshore sportsbook.
