Sportbook – USC Plummets in AP Football Poll

Sportbook odds are almost always popular on USC but that may begin to change as the Trojans drop in the rankings. The Trojans were routed in offshore sportsbook results this past week by Stanford and dropped to #22 in the AP Poll.Sportbook had USC losing 55-21 to Stanford on Saturday.  The Trojans almost dropped all the way out of the Top 25.  They have been ranked in 128 polls going all the way back to the start of the 2002 season.  This is their lowest ranking since October of that sportbook year.

Stanford jumped up to #14 in the AP poll and that is their highest ranking since 2001. USC has lost only two of its last 49 games at home as sportbook results show and both losses have come to Stanford. “This isn’t what we grew up watching,” USC quarterback Matt Barkley said. This will be USC’s first season with more than two losses since 2001.  The Trojans have a much needed bye week and then face UCLA late this month in sportbook odds.

The Top of the AP poll has the same three teams with Florida, Alabama and Texas. The Crimson Tide and Longhorns have jockeyed back and forth between second and third but it really is meaningless since either Florida or Alabama is going to drop after the SEC title game next month in offshore sportsbook odds. Moving up to #4 was TCU while Cincinnati is #5.  Florida received 36 first-place votes in the AP poll as sportbook info showed while Alabama got 14 first-place votes. Texas received 10 first-place votes as offshore sportsbook info indicates.

Boise State begins the second five at #6 followed by Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. Ohio State is up to #9 after their overtime win against Iowa that clinched the Big 10 title and the Rose Bowl.  LSU is now #10 in the AP poll as offshore sportsbook has it.  Sportbook has Oregon moving up to #11 followed by Oklahoma State and Penn State. Stanford is 14th followed by Iowa and Virginia Tech.  The rest of the Top 20 as sportbook stats show in the AP Poll are Wisconsin, Clemson, BYU and Oregon State.  It is the first time this sportbook season that the Beavers have been ranked. Miami fell to #21 followed by USC, Utah and Houston. Rutgers moved into the rankings at #25 for the first time this sportbook season. Arizona and South Florida both dropped out of the rankings as sportbook info shows.
