Saints Bringing Back Reggie Bush

Sportsbook has the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints bringing back Reggie Bush even though he is scheduled to make $8 million in 2010. There was some talk that Bush might not be back considering he is making so much money but New Orleans has said they intend for him to return. The Saints are the second choice in Super Bowl XLV odds at the online sportsbook behind the Indianapolis Colts.

Sportsbook had Bush with 488 carries 1,940 yards and 17 touchdowns in his New Orleans career. He has 260 catches for 1,934 yards and 11 touchdowns as sportsbook numbers indicated. Last sportsbook season, he had 725 yards from scrimmage and scored eight times. “He’ll be with us. He’s not going anywhere,” Saints coach Sean Payton told the New Orleans Times-Picayune at the NFL combine in Indianapolis. “Mickey [Loomis] and I talked the other day about it. We value what this player brings, what he’s been in three of the last four years … really in all four seasons here. So I think we’ve spent more time in the other areas than we have discussing his status. So he’s full speed ahead, he finished strong, and he’ll be with us.”

Bush is a popular player in New Orleans although he is overpaid.  Since the Saints are Super Bowl champs though they can afford to bring Bush back. Bush did have an impact this past NFL online sportsbook year for the Saints though as he scored on punt returns and out of the backfield.

You might think that the Saints were a great success last season since they went 13-3 during the regular season.  They were just 8-8 against the sportsbook odds during the regular season.  They were successful in the playoffs but during the regular season they were a bit overpriced at the sportsbook.  The Saints had the top offense in the NFL a year ago as online sportsbook stats showed. They averaged 31.9 points per game last season.  The New Orleans defense was not that great but it didn’t matter in the playoffs as they were good enough to win.

The New Orleans backfield will be interesting to watch next online sportsbook NFL season as Pierre Thomas is the leading rusher while Bush gets the ball on third downs and in certain situations.  Even Mike Bell was part of the equation last season as sportsbook stats indicated.
