Rockies a Team to Watch vs. Sportsbook Odds at Trading Deadline

Rockies a Team to Watch vs. Sportsbook Odds at Trading Deadline. This weekend the sportsbook odds on baseball teams could move as the Major League Baseball trading deadline is Saturday. One of the teams that could see their odds adjusted at the offshore sportsbook is the Colorado Rockies. The question is which way will they go?

Sportsbook odds still list Colorado as a contender in the National League West. The Rockies are not sure though whether they are really in the race. The next few days may decide whether or not the Rockies are buyers or sellers at the trading deadline. The Rockies were considering adding a big name like Adam Dunn but with their recent poor play they are now considering trading away some players. One of those mentioned is pitcher Aaron Cook. The Rockies would like to get rid of his big contract and they may be able to find a taker since Cook has pitched pretty well this season.

Colorado is in danger of falling out of the playoff race but they are still close enough to consider themselves in the race. It is a tough decision for Colorado since they really believe they can win the National League West. They should get Troy Tulowitzki back any day now and he would really help their offense. The concern for Colorado is that Ubaldo Jimenez will not regain his Cy Young form and that Jorge de la Rosa is going to continue to struggle.

Colorado could do anything at the trading deadline from adding a big bat like Jorge Cantu to trading away a number of players like Cook, De la Rosa, Melvin Mora, Ryan Spilborghs and Brad Hawpe, Rafael Betancourt and Joe Beimel.

What could make the decision for Colorado tougher is their schedule. If the Rockies were on the road facing a tough trip they might just consider themselves out of the race but they are home vs. Pittsburgh and Chicago this week, two teams they should beat vs. the offshore sportsbook baseball odds. If the Rockies have a good week they might decide on Saturday that they are buyers and go all out to make a major splash at the trading deadline. It is definitely an important week for the Rockies in terms of their future for this season.
