Red Sox Sign Adrian Beltre Sportsbook Online

Red Sox Sign Adrian Beltre Sportsbook Online.   Online is always popular on the Boston Red Sox and whenever they make a move, people notice. The Red Sox made a move that should get some attention as they signed free-agent third baseman Adrian Beltre to a one-year, guaranteed $10 million dollar contract. The question is whether Beltre can still impact offshore sportsbook results next season.

Sportbook online numbers have Beltre getting $9 million next season with a $5 million player option for 2011 plus a $1 million buyout so that means Beltre is going to get $10 million at a minimum.  Beltre batted .265 with eight home runs and 44 RBIs for the Mariners last sportbook online baseball season but he only played in 111 games.  Beltre used to be a power hitter who could impact sportbook online results but recently that has not been the case.

You have to go back to 2004 when Beltre was with the Dodgers to see his last really good year. He batted .334 that offshore sportsbook year and led the league with 48 home runs and he had 121 RBIs.  He left after that season to get the big money in Seattle but has never really done much to earn a big contract.  His only really solid season was in 2007 when he hit .276 with 26 homers and 99 RBIs.

Boston may have reached a little bit with Beltre. Sportbook online statistics indicate that his career batting average at Fenway Park is .179.  His power seems to be sporadic but at least he is a very good defensive player. The problem in the American League is that you can’t have a third baseman who doesn’t hit for power. The Red Sox still have Mike Lowell but it is unclear what they are going to do with him.  They had a deal worked out with Texas but Lowell has injury issues.

There was a market for Beltre but whether it was $10 million a year is a huge sportbook online question. Baltimore and the L.A. Angels had an interest in Beltre but it seemed unlikely they would pay a big salary.

Boston has some definite issues in the middle of their lineup.  They lost Jason Bay to the Mets and he led the team in home runs last season as sportbook online stats showed.  Boston did sign John Lackey so perhaps they are looking to play low scoring games next offshore sportsbook baseball season. Beltre would help in that regard thanks to his defense but winning in the American League with pitching and defense vs. odds at the offshore sportsbook only takes you so far.
