Pujols in No Hurry to Sign Extension Sport Books

Sport books had St. Louis Cardinal slugger Albert Pujols saying that he is in no hurry to sign an extension with the team. The Cardinals would love to lock up the MVP for a long time but Internet sportsbook info had Pujols wanting to take some time.

Sport books had the Cardinals losing in a sweep to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division series.  That online sports betting loss did not sit well with Pujols or others.  Manager Tony LaRussa and pitching coach Dave Duncan are deciding their futures and that has made Pujols wonder as well. “I’m not desperate to sign a contract extension. I still have one year remaining in my contract for 2010 and a club option for 2011. I leave the rest in God’s hands,” Pujols said to a Dominican radio station.

Sport books had Pujols signing a seven-year contract for $100 million after the 2003 season. The issue for Pujols though is not money. “We have not sat down to talk about contracts yet. Last week, the GM [John Mozeliak] called me and I told them to talk to my lawyer. But I reiterate that money is not everything, it’s better to have a competitive team that can go to the postseason,” he said.  Pujols was a beast again this sports betting season as he impacted sport books results. He hit .327 with 47 home runs and 135 RBIs this season for the Cardinals as sport books stats showed.  He is almost a lock to win another National League MVP Award this Internet sportsbook season.  “Let’s wait. I’d rather not talk about it, but I can tell you that I had a good season and I deserve it, but also Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard,” he said.  Pujols is undoubtedly going to win the award though based on his great season.

Pujols was not happy about losing in the sport books series to the Dodgers.  He does think that the Dodgers will make it to the World Series though. “I know the Yankees and Philadelphia have good teams, but my favorites for the World Series are the Dodgers and the Angels,” he said.

The Dodgers are a slight Internet sportsbook favorite against the Phillies at sport books.  The Angels are almost 2-1 underdogs at the Internet sportsbook in their sports betting series against the Yankees in the ALCS.
