Powerful Teams in SEC Sportsbook Odds

Sportsbook lines on the SEC include a lot of powerful teams including the Florida Gators who are the favorites to win not only the SEC but the national title. The Gators are not the only team from the SEC that gets attention at the sportsbook. Sportsbook numbers heavily favor the Gators to win the SEC East Division in 2009.  They are -1500 to win the division with the Georgia Bulldogs a distant 5-1 second choice at the sports book.

The SEC West Division is much more competitive at the sportsbook with Alabama, Mississippi and LSU in the mix.  Alabama is +130 at the sportsbook to win the while Mississippi and LSU are +150.  Even Arkansas and Auburn are in the mix at the sportsbook in future SEC West Division odds at 6-1 each.  Mississippi State really has no shot at 17-1 in sports betting.  The West should be a really good battle between Ole Miss, LSU and Alabama with the Tide having the slight edge.

The SEC East Division is definitely all about Florida but if the Gators somehow slip there is some value in sportsbook numbers.  Georgia is 5-1 followed by South Carolina at 7-1 and Tennessee at 8-1 in sports betting.  Vanderbilt is 17-1 at the sports book while Kentucky is 18-1 at the sports book.  Most people will not want to bet against Tim Tebow and Florida in 2009 though.  They are the defending champs and a solid favorite to win it all again.  The schedule is challenging for Florida but they have the talent to run the table and win the national title in 2009.

The SEC is considered the best conference in the country and that is reflected at the sportsbook.  The Gators will be favored at the sportsbook in every game in 2009 and the chance of Alabama being favored most of the time is high as well.  Even a team like Mississippi could get a lot of attention at the sports book from gamblers in 2009.  They have turned the corner and are no longer considered an easy win.  Other teams like Auburn and LSU always get respect from college football betting gamblers at the sportsbook.

Overall, the SEC is a powerful conference with a number of teams that attract a lot of attention at the sportsbook.  That should be the case again in 2009 college football betting.
