Pettitte to Return for 16th Season Online Sportsbooks

Online sportsbooks will notice that The New York Yankees are expected to bring back Andy Pettitte in 2010.

Pettitte has said he wants to come back for a 16th season and pitch for the Yankees next season. Pettitte had a very good season and was favored many times at the Internet sportsbook.

Online sportsbooks have the Yankees as the favorite to win the World Series and getting Pettitte signed would be a big help. The Yankees have put a priority on getting their pitching staff settled. Pettitte was 14-8 last season against the odds at the Internet sportsbook. He finished the online sportsbooks season with a 4.16 ERA. He has a career record of 229-135 with a 3.91 ERA. Last season he was money in the postseason as he went 4-0 in five starts as Internet sportsbook stats show.

New York has said that they want to cut costs for the 2010 online sportsbooks season so bringing back Pettitte makes sense. The Yankees had a payroll of about $208 million last year as online sportsbooks stats showed and they have said they want to reduce that number to around $185 million this season. “Now we’ll go out trying to execute some game plans,” general manager Brian Cashman said. “We have our priorities and we’ll starting working through the winter.” The Yankees have pitchers CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett under contract so they have the first two starting pitchers set. Getting Pettitte signed would make it three. “Thankfully we have a lot of answers already on our roster, but there’s still areas of need that we need to address,” Cashman said.

Online sportsbooks note that the Yankees have two free agents, Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui who may not be back. Matsui will be expensive as he is coming off winning the World Series MVP. “I’ll talk with all the agents involved, as well as the other agents on the rest of the free agent market and at the end on the trade market,” Cashman said.

Internet sportsbook info has the Yankees looking at free agents like pitcher John Lackey and outfielder Matt Holliday. “We’ll meet with agents, meet with clubs,” Cashman said. “You never know what will materialize.” They are also looking at Toronto pitcher Roy Halladay. Whether or not they want to pay the steep price for Halladay is the online sportsbooks question.
