Online Sportbook Hill Named 49ers Starting QB

Online sportbook has the San Francisco 49ers naming Shaun Hill as their starting quarterback.  Hill was in a battle with Alex Smith for the starting job but it didn’t turn out to be much of a contest. The 49ers are 7-point underdogs at the Internet sportbook in preseason action on Saturday at Dallas.

Online sportbook tells us that the 49ers are counting on Hill to lead them in the NFC West this season. Hill has made the most of his chances and will finally start a season as the #1 quarterback. “It’s been quite a ride,” Hill said. “About made it through six seasons without taking a snap in the league. Now here I am about to start for one of the most storied franchises in the NFL with a history of great quarterbacks. I’m very honored to have this opportunity with the 49ers.”

Hill has actually been very successful as a starter in his career as online sportbook stats indicate. NFL betting has Hill as 7-3 in his career as the starter including 5-3 last year. Internet sportbook info tells us that in Saturday’s NFL betting preseason game at Dallas, Hill will play the first half along with the other starters. Head coach Mike Singletary wanted to name a starter before the third preseason game where starters get a lot of time. “I like the consistency,” Singletary said. “He has a commanding presence about him. When he gets in the huddle, the guys have learned to rally around him. … Shaun offers a lot of leadership, and I’m excited about that.”

Smith has never done anything to show that he is ready to lead the 49ers as online sportbook tells us and even though Singletary still has confidence in him, many others do not. Internet sportbook had Smith hurting his thumb in the last game against the Raiders and now he probably won’t play against the Cowboys but should be ready for the backup role in the season opener against Arizona. The 49ers are 6.5 point underdogs at the online sportbook in their regular season opener against the Cardinals.

San Francisco is considered a contender in the NFC West this season at the online sportbook. They are not the sports betting favorites at the Internet sportbook but they are not that far behind Arizona and Seattle. The 49ers are 3.5 to 1 to win the NFC West at the online sportbook.
