The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their sixth consecutive loss on Sunday with a defeat by the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta 31-23 and of course they went into the game as a 6 point underdog!  Their rookie QB Glennon had an above average outing throwing for 256 yards completing 26 of 44 passes for some 254 yards and two TD’s.   In the offensive running game the Buc’s carried the ball 28 times totaling 110 yards and overall the offense produced some 340 yards.  The team had 4 attempts in the Red Zone and were able to convert one of those 4 drives into a TD.  The Buc’s defense allowed the Falcons some 290 yards in the game with a stingy 18 yards running and the balance 272 yards for the Falcons passing game.  The Tampa Bay team had one fumble that was picked up and returned for a touchdown by Atlanta.

Taking a look at the Quarterbacks that normally have a large influence on the outcome of a game according to the statistics at SBG Global, Carolina’s QB Newton has thrown 10 touchdowns this season thus far accumulating some 1,331 yards completing 108 of 170 passes thrown with the leading receiver Olsen with 27 receptions for 339 yards and 1 TD. For Tampa Bay QB Glennon as thrown for 5 touchdowns compiling 722 yards with 76 of 130 passes completed with receiver Jackson 36 receptions for 544 yards and 4 TD’s.  In the running game the leading rusher for the Pack is Williams who gained 434 yards on 108 carries without a TD.  The rushing leader in Tampa was Martin with 456 yards rushing on 127 carries with 1 TD.

In this Thursday night NFL game the Panthers will be seeking their 3 straight win and the Buccaneers will provide plenty of competition especially if QB Glennon continues his game play he showed against the Falcons in their last game.   Good luck to both teams!
