Mets Sign Bay, Giants Sign DeRosa – Sportsbook

Mets Sign Bay, Giants Sign DeRosa – Sportsbook. The New York Mets have reached a deal to sign Jason Bay while the San Francisco Giants have inked Mark DeRosa to a two-year deal. Bay is the player that can impact the odds at the Internet sportsbook but the impact DeRosa can make could also be big.

Sportsbook numbers have Bay agreeing to a four-year, $66 million dollar deal with the New York Mets contingent on Bay passing a physical. Bay was really the last big name on the free agent market.  Sportsbook stats had him hitting 36 home runs and driving in 119 runs for Boston last season. Bay is a three-time All-Star as sportsbook info shows, and hit .267 last season for the Red Sox.  There are also incentives in Bay’s deal that could make the contract worth $80 million.  Bay will be a big part of New York’s offense next season and could play a major role in how well the Mets do in sportsbook results.

The other sportsbook deal had Mark DeRosa going to the San Francisco Giants.  The deal is reportedly worth $12 million for two years as sportsbook info shows. DeRosa is expected to take over third base next sportsbook baseball season for the Giants although he can play almost anywhere.  Internet sportsbook statistics had DeRosa hitting .250 with a career-best 23 homers and 78 RBIs with Cleveland and St. Louis.

Internet sportsbook had a lot of teams interested in DeRosa including the New York Yankees but the Giants beat everyone to the punch. The Giants really want to add some power to their lineup next sportsbook year.  They were 15th in the National League last season in home runs as Internet sportsbook statistics showed.  Whether DeRosa has enough power is debatable since he is not a huge power guy. He did hit 23 home runs last season but that may have been an aberration. DeRosa has a career average of .285 with an average of 15 home runs per season.  Yes, DeRosa will be an upgrade over what the Giants had last sportsbook year if he hits 5th as expected, but he is not a true power hitter.  He is a good pickup though for a San Francisco team that could challenge Los Angeles in the National League West in sportsbook odds.
