Lakers and Cavaliers continue to be Hot at the Sportsbook

Lakers and Cavaliers continue to be Hot at the Sportsbook. Sportsbook odds almost always favor the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. That make sense considering the Cavaliers have won eight straight while the Lakers have won seven in a row.  Even though they are the two best teams in the NBA, they don’t always cover the sportsbook online odds.

Sportsbook numbers actually show the Lakers with a losing record this season against the spread while the Cavaliers are 36-35-1 vs. the number.  The Lakers are not that good vs. the spread as they are 30-38-3.  The Lakers did cover their last game though as they defeated San Antonio 92-83 on Wednesday night. Kobe Bryant scored 24 points in the win which stretched the Los Angeles winning streak to seven, their second-longest winning streak of the season.

“It was a playoff-type of atmosphere,” Bryant said. “We were down in the first half. We had to battle back. It was a good win for us to start this road trip.” The Lakers have 11 games remaining and they are in very good shape to be the top seed in the West as they lead Dallas by six games. “I think we understand that we’re at the point of the year where we’re really tuned in and focused about what we have to do out there,” Pau Gasol said.

The Spurs get another chance to beat the best as they take on Cleveland on Friday night. Cleveland is a small favorite in NBA sportsbook online odds. “You always want to beat the best teams, but at this point in the season, I just want to beat the team in front of me,” Manu Ginobili said. “If it’s the worst or the best, we just need to win.”

The Spurs probably won’t win on Friday against a red-hot Cleveland team. LeBron James scored 38 points as the Cavaliers routed New Orleans 105-92 on Wednesday. Not only have the Cavaliers won eight straight, they have won 27 in a row against teams with a losing record. The Cavaliers have the best record in the league and they also have the top mark in road games. The Cavaliers head into Friday’s game with a record of 21-15-1 against the NBA odds at the sportsbook.  The Cavaliers have been better away from home vs. the number than they have been at home.  That is a switch from last season when Cleveland dominated on their home court.
