Kansas Back to #1 in Polls

Kansas Back to #1 in Polls and fans are excited for the Odds. Sportsbook odds will continue to favor Kansas as they have moved back to the #1 spot in the polls. The Jayhawks have been at the top of the college hoops polls for much of the season and they regained the top spot this week.  The sportsbook online odds are likely to favor Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse and Duke as each could get top seeds in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

Sportsbook has Kansas at 29-2 overall and they were almost a unanimous #1 pick this week in the polls.  They got 30 of the 31 first-place votes with third ranked Syracuse getting the other first place vote.  Last week the Orange were number one but they dropped after losing to Louisville. Kentucky moved up one spot to #2 followed by Syracuse and Duke. The Blue Devils didn’t drop even though they had a loss last week at Maryland.  They bounced back by routing North Carolina on Saturday in sportsbook online results.

Purdue is fifth in the USA Today/ESPN poll followed by West Virginia who moved up two spots to #6.  Ohio State is seventh while New Mexico moved up two slots to #8.  Kansas State and Villanova completed the top 10. Not many of the other teams changed positions heading into this week’s conference tournaments.  Michigan State is 11th and they are followed by Butler, Tennessee, Gonzaga, BYU, Pittsburgh, Temple, Wisconsin, Maryland and Baylor. The last five are UTEP, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and Northern Iowa.  The only team that is new to the poll this week is Northern Iowa as they replace Texas who fell all the way out of the Top 25 after being at #1 earlier this season.

This week there will be a lot of action where Top 25 teams match up but most of those games won’t happen until late in the sportsbook week.  Many of the Top 25 teams have byes into the second round of the conference tournaments.  It will be the quarterfinals, semifinals and the finals of the conference tournaments where top ranked teams will be facing off against each other.  The Big East will have a lot of those games since that conference has the most teams in the Top 25.  The Big 10 should also have some interesting matchups between Top 25 teams in their tournament as will the ACC and the Big 12 conferences.
