Inter Milan Advances vs. Sportsbook Odds in Champions League

Sportsbook odds still have Inter Milan alive in the Champions League. Inter Milan made it to the Champions League semifinals for the first time in seven years as they beat CSKA Moscow 1-0 on Tuesday.  They got a sixth minute goal by Wesley Sneijder and held on for the win vs. offshore sportsbook lines.

Sportsbook odds will match up Inter Milan against the winner of Arsenal and Barcelona in the semifinals.  Inter Milan will host the first leg of the semifinals on April 20th and play the return leg on April 28th. Sneijder scored on a free kick that made it through and deflected off CSKA’s Keisuke Honda in the sixth minute.  Inter advanced 2-0 on aggregate.

CSKA played a man short after the 49th minute as Chidi Odiah was ejected for receiving a second yellow card.  Offshore sportsbook statistics indicate that this is the first time since 2003 that Milan has made it to the semifinals of the Champions League.  After Odiah was sent off the match was really over.  Milan shut down any scoring chances that CSKA might have gotten.

Once Sneijder scored it meant that CSKA would have had to score three goals to advance and rarely did they threaten to score even one goal.  Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda had a chance early in the game but after Sneijder scored in the sixth minute the match and the result vs. sportsbook odds was really over. Inter almost got a second but Goran Pandev was denied.  The best chance for CSKA came in the 24th minute when Tomas Necid went wide. Inter had another chance to score but Diego Milito couldn’t find the goal. Odiah had a chance in the first half that was tipped wide. After he was sent off in the second half, CSKA had a couple of chances but midfielder Gonzalez couldn’t score.  That was really the last chance for CSKA.  Inter had a late chance as Eto’o almost scored but his shot went over the bar.

Inter Milan is going to get some support at the sportsbook in the semifinals.  They were not that impressive against CSKA but they didn’t have to be.  They shutdown a poor scoring squad and got the two goals they needed to advance.  They will be tested a lot more by either Arsenal or Barcelona but Inter is capable of giving both of those teams a battle and winning vs. sportsbook odds.
