Injured Players Returning Will Impact Sportsbook MLB Odds

When you look at the baseball odds at the sportsbook during the second half of the season don’t forget about injured players who will be returning.  There are some big names that will be returning from injury and they will impact sportsbook online results.

There were many injured All-Stars who didn’t even play in the All-Star games and there are other players who are former All-Stars who are hurt.  The list begins with former MVP Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox.  He is a major part of Boston’s offense and he can make a big impact for Boston.  The Red Sox are somewhat of a MASH unit as they have so many players injured.  Also coming back in the second half of the season will be Josh Beckett, Clay Buchholz, Jacoby Ellsbury and Victor Martinez. Boston needs every player they can get since they are in a tough fight with New York and Tampa Bay in the American League East.

The Mets are expecting Carlos Beltran to be in their starting lineup in the second half of the season and he could be a huge help to New York’s offense.  The Mets are trying to catch the Atlanta Braves and Beltran would be a major help.  Also in the National League East, the Philadelphia Phillies should get Chase Utley back later this season.  He will be a player to monitor as he can make a huge difference in terms of Philadelphia wins and losses.

Many of the teams that made the playoffs a year ago would miss out if the season ended today. Only the New York Yankees and either the Dodgers or Rockies would make it now.  The Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels need to start hitting if they are to make the playoffs again this season.  Both teams have really struggled on offense.

Whenever an All-Star returns from injury he can make a difference in a team’s win-loss record.  Sometimes a player will return without a lot of fanfare so make sure you monitor teams like Philadelphia and Colorado and check on when Utley and Tulowitzki will return.  And keep you eye on Boston’s injury list as they have numerous players who will be returning from injury in the second half of the season.
