Hershiser Joining Sunday Night Baseball and the Odds at the Sportsbook. Action Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN is going to sound a little different this year. Orel Hershiser is joining the Sunday night team with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. The Sunday night game is popular during the baseball sportsbook online season since it is in prime time.
Sportsbook records have this as the 21st season that Miller and Morgan will be doing the Sunday night game. Sportsbook baseball season opens up on April 4th with the New York Yankees at the Boston Red Sox in Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN 2. This year the duo of Miller and Morgan will be joined by Hershiser who was the 1988 National League Cy Young Winner and World Series MVP for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has been with ESPN since 2006 and has been an excellent baseball analyst. Hershiser replaces Steve Phillips in the booth and he will be a welcome replacement.
Hershiser will also be working on the “Baseball Tonight” set on ESPN and he will be part of ESPN’s coverage of the College World Series and Little League World Series. Hershiser has been a pitching coach and an executive with the Texas Rangers in his career. His knowledge of baseball will be a welcome change for ESPN this sportsbook online baseball season. Instead of having Phillips in the booth the network will now have a former pitcher who understands how the game is played and can give excellent insight. Hershiser will vastly upgrade the ESPN broadcast as long as he gets the respect from Miller and Morgan that he deserves.
ESPN has announced a number of their Sunday Night broadcasts for the sportsbook MLB season. In addition to the sportsbook baseball opener between the Yankees and Red Sox which for some reason is on ESPN 2, the Sunday Night schedule includes St. Louis at Milwaukee on April 11th. The Cardinals host the Mets the following sportsbook week while Atlanta is in New York on April 25th. May 2nd it is the Mets at Philadelphia while the Yankees are at Boston on May 9th. The Phillies are at Milwaukee on May 16th while the Yankees are at the Mets on the 23rd in sportsbook online action. Texas is at Minnesota on May 30th in sportsbook online baseball odds. The sportsbook MLB schedule for Sunday night games on ESPN for June has not been announced. July 4th has Kansas City at the Angels while the 11th has the Cubs and Dodgers and the 18th it is the Phillies at the Cubs.
