Free Agency Will Move NBA Sportsbook Odds

Free agency negotiations in the NBA begin on July 1st and there are some big names on the market that will impact NBA odds at the sportsbook. The biggest name on the list is LeBron James.  The Cleveland Cavaliers are hoping that they can bring back their two-time MVP but if not, you can expect the odds at the offshore sportsbook on Cleveland to drop like a rock.

Sportsbook odds on other teams are also going to be impacted.  The top free agent is LeBron James but he is not the only big name available. Miami’s Dwyane Wade is an unrestricted free agent and he would immediately make any team better.  All reports have it that Wade wants to stay in Miami though.  What could affect the odds on the Heat though is another free agent that joins Wade in Miami.  Chris Bosh would be the most likely candidate but that may not happen.  A number of teams are courting Bosh including the Toronto Raptors. Bosh has carried the Raptors for many seasons and Toronto would like to have him back.  Houston would like to bring in Bosh as would Chicago.  Bosh averaged 24 points and 10.8 rebounds per game last season so he would be a big addition for any team during the free agency.

The free agent class is really deep and talented this year.  Phoenix forward Amar’e Stoudemire is a very good player who would make a serious impact in NBA odds at the offshore sportsbook for any team.  He averaged 23.1 points per game with Phoenix last season.  Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki is another big name on the list.  He has been the star of the Mavericks for years and he probably won’t leave with the money that Dallas will offer him.

One free agent that is almost certain to move is Atlanta guard Joe Johnson. He wore out his welcome in Atlanta during the playoffs.  He averaged 21.3 points per game this past season and many teams are looking at him. Another player likely to change team is Utah’s Carlos Boozer. He averaged almost 20 points per game last season and would be a nice addition for any team in the league.  Memphis forward Rudy Gay has similar numbers to Boozer and he probably will be going elsewhere.
