Fitzpatrick Stays the Starter for Bills

Fitzpatrick Stays the Starter for Bills.  Online sportsbooks will note that the Buffalo Bills will be starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick against this week as they host the Houston Texans. The Bills have done very well with Fitzpatrick at quarterback and are suddenly a threat in Internet sportsbook odds.

Online sportsbooks have the Bills underdogs this week against Houston but Buffalo has shown they can compete with Fitzpatrick. Buffalo head coach Dick Jauron has been noncommittal about Trent Edwards getting the starting job back. “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” Jauron said. Fitzpatrick has now led the Bills to two straight wins versus the online sportsbooks number even though he has not played that well. The big key though is that Fitzpatrick doesn’t turn the ball over and that is something to keep in mind as you look at the odds this week at the Internet sportsbook.

Buffalo can get to .500 if they are able to win this week in online sportsbooks odds against Houston. That would a huge accomplishment as Internet sportsbook numbers show heading into their bye week. Edwards has struggled going 3-9 in this last 12 games as the starter for the Bills. Fitzpatrick on the other hand has won five straight as online sportsbooks stats show, including going 3-0 to finish last year with the Bengals. Fitzpatrick is not flashy though. He is just 21 of 47 for 239 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He does protect the ball well though and manages the game. Edwards had six interceptions and five TDs this season. “The key thing in that game for us was that we protected the football,” Jauron said about the win over Carolina. “I thought Ryan handled the game well. I thought he put us into things we needed to be. They weren’t always successful, but he got us in them.” Online sportsbooks stats had Fitzpatrick going 11 of 22 for 123 yards passing and a touchdown. All four of Buffalo’s scoring drives were set up by turnovers but Fitzpatrick got them into position to take advantage.

Online sportsbooks have seen Buffalo change quarterbacks before. Edwards got the job back in 2007 when he replaced J.P. Losman. Buffalo could be getting a little healthier this week as online sportsbooks info shows as they may have starting safeties Donte Whitner and Bryan Scott back.

Houston is a 3.5 point favorite at the Internet sportsbook in Sunday’s game against Buffalo.
