Cardinals-Saints Total is Sky High Sportsbook Betting

Cardinals-Saints Total is Sky High Sportsbook Betting. Sportsbook betting on the NFL playoff game on Saturday between the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints is supposed to be all about offense. The total at the sportsbooks is 57 and that is about as high a total as you will ever see for an NFL game.

Sportsbook betting saw Arizona and Green Bay combine for 96 points last week in the highest scoring NFL playoff game in history so oddsmakers reacted and made a very high total for this week’s game between Arizona and New Orleans.   Many bettors at sportsbooks are not too worried about the high total of 57 as they are betting the over anyway.

It should be noted in sportsbook betting that people oftentimes overreact to what happened the previous week.  Making a total of 57 looks justified since gamblers are betting the over anyway but should they be? New Orleans did have the top ranked offense in the NFL this season but they really struggled down the stretch.  The total on New Orleans’ games this season was pretty high but only once did it get up to this level of 57 points. That was in the game against New England on Monday Night Football.  In fact, that game went under the total as the Saints won 38-17.  Just because the Saints were a high scoring team does not mean they always went over the sportsbook betting total.  In fact, many times they went under the total when the number got above 50. They went under the sportsbook betting number of 50.5 against Atlanta, under 51 in the game against Tampa Bay and under the 53.5 against Dallas.

In the last ten years there have been some games that had totals over 50 in the playoffs but it still is not very common.  The majority of games with a total this high have gone under in sportsbook betting history.  57 is a lot of points even with two great offenses.  That has not stopped the public though from taking the over in sportsbook betting. People still believe that a lot of points will be scored so they are taking the Cardinals and Saints over the total at sportsbooks. The Cardinals actually went under the total in 11 of their 16 games during the regular season.  New Orleans went under the sportsbooks total in 9 of their 16 regular season games.
