Big College Football Favorites at the Sportsbook Site for Week 1. The college football season is just a few weeks away and there are some big favorites on the board at the sportsbook sites. One of the biggest favorites on the sportsbook site is Ohio State and they play the first game of the college football season on Thursday, September 2nd.  They are 29-point home favorites against Marshall in a game that will be televised on the Big 10 Network.

Sportsbook site odds list four other games on the main board for Thursday with South Carolina a two-touchdown favorite over Southern Miss in a game that can be seen on ESPN, Iowa State a three-point favorite vs. Northern Illinois, Utah a three-point choice vs. Pittsburgh and USC a 19-point favorite at Hawaii. There are two added games on Thursday with Minnesota at Middle Tennessee State and Florida Atlantic at UAB. There is one game for Friday and that has Arizona a 14.5 point favorite at Toledo.

The biggest favorites in college football for Week 1 on the sportsbook page are the teams playing on Saturday.  Defending national champion Alabama opens up at home against San Jose State and they are 39-point favorites.  There are five other teams laying 30 points or more in Week 1. Nebraska is laying 34.5 points at home to Western Kentucky, Florida is a 34-point home choice vs. Miami of Ohio, Oregon is laying 32 points to New Mexico, Oklahoma is a 30.5 point favorite vs. Utah State and Auburn is a 30.5 point home favorite vs. Arkansas State.

There are also a number of teams laying 20 points or more in Week 1 on Saturday.  Texas is laying 27.5 points at Rice, Georgia is a 25.5 point favorite vs. UL Lafayette, Clemson is laying 22 points at home vs. North Texas, Michigan State is laying 21 points to Western Michigan and Mississippi State is a 20.5 point home favorite vs. Memphis.

While there are a lot of huge favorites in Week 1, the biggest game of the week has just a 2.5 point spread.  It will be two top 10 teams meeting in Landover, Maryland on Monday, September 6th as Boise State plays Virginia Tech. The Broncos are the favorite in that contest that could decide whether or not Boise State is in the national title hunt this college football season.
